The Winter Solstice is the longest night of the year. Peak yin energy invites us to look deep into the darkness and be open to the unseen. There is hope there. The dark and quiet fertile environment of dirt, an egg, a womb is where life begins. Plant the seeds of your intentions for the upcoming year.
What brings you joy? What fuels your heart and soul? These are the things that allow you to shine your light. Listen to that little voice within. What is it calling you to do?
In Feng Shui, we look at nine areas of life that make an impact on your overall wellbeing. If you’d like to brainstorm your intentions more, consider one intention for each of the following using the questions as a guide:
New Beginnings
Wealth & Abundance
Health
Helpful People & Travel
Completion
Knowledge & Self-cultivation
Fame & Reputation
Career & Life Path
Love & Relationships
Write your intention for each of the nine areas of life and put them into a lucky red envelope (a symbol of vitality and protection) that you tape above the door of your bedroom. As you place the envelope, visualize yourself living your intentions every day of the upcoming year.
Tend to your seeds every day and watch them grow little by little. What are tiny actions you can take every day that move you closer to who you are becoming? Your momentum grows with the yang energy, where it will be at the highest level at the Summer Solstice. From now until then, use the waxing moon cycle to boost your efforts, and rest and reflect during the waning moon cycle.
If you’d like gentle support bringing these intentions into your space and daily life, this is the kind of work I guide clients through, slowly, thoughtfully, and in rhythm with the seasons. You’re welcome to explore working together when it feels aligned.
